Here is the first article in our “Coworking World Tour” series. For each country, we will make you discover our selection of the best places for digital nomads abroad.

Digital nomads and world tour are two challenges in their own right. We decided to do both, at the same time, and for a year! This is what makes our trip atypical as well as the destinations we have chosen. To be able to continue Freelance missions, we needed to stay connected, have places for concentration and especially the desire to discover new ways of working. That’s why we systematically worked in coworking during our trip, in addition to places more “chill” like restaurants or hotels feet in the water 😉

Here is our selection of the best coworking we have tested in Bali.

Bali (Indonesia), relaxation and cultural mixes

Bali is the first destination for Digital Nomads. Why? Simply because the living environment is heavenly, the cost of living is relatively low, the island has very advanced infrastructure to provide excellent wifi in some places, and its central place between Asia and Australia in fact a natural hub of passage of many travelers.

In the coworking we find the calm and relaxed atmosphere of Bali. Yoga classes, surfing sessions and mediation are essential activities offered by these workspaces in addition to a desk and coffee at will!

Bannière coworking dojo bali

Dojo-Bali, Canggu

Our first coworking was not chosen at random. The Bali Dojo is ranked in the TOP 3 of the world’s places for digital nomads.

The atmosphere of the Bali Dojo is very Australian, dynamic with many surfers and digital nomads settled in Bali in the long term. (Find the full article on the Bali Dojo here)

PRICE

  • $ 16 per day
  • $ 55 per week (30h package)
  • $ 206 per month (unlimited package)

BENEFITS

The setting is great, close to the beautiful beach of Echo Beach. The place is very pleasant with several possibilities to work: the work bar to isolate, air-conditioned work rooms, common tables.

Events take place almost every day and they are of quality (meet up, mastermind, after work etc …)

INCONVENIENTS

Victim of its success, the Dojo may have lost some proximity in the exchanges. In addition, we can deplore the too superficial links with local actors (an example: the staff did not know how to put us in touch with an association of which they are partners).

Coworking Hubud à Ubud

Hubud, Ubud

Located in Bali’s most visited city, its Hub name is not usurped. The Hubud is a warm and cosmopolitan coworking . Note that the two best coworking of Bali have just merged (Dojo Bali + Hubud) to increase synergies.

PRICE

  • $ 16 per day
  • $ 55 per week (30h package)
  • $ 206 per month (unlimited package)

BENEFITS

The building is entirely built of bamboo. The locals are very zen and ideally placed in the city center in front of the forest of monkeys (be careful not to be stolen his snack by one of these friendly workmates elsewhere ^ ^). The exchanges are easy with the staff and the variety of trades freelance who work or are passing makes the experience very rewarding.

INCONVENIENTS

In a long-term perspective, you have to love life in Ubud , which is a very touristic city. If you are looking for peace and quiet, better get out of the city and get lost in the rice fields.

Coworking Livit à Sanur Bali

Livit Hub, Sanur

Far from the tumult of the city but close to all amenities, Livit-Hub is a coworking very different from those we found in Bali. Large, quiet, beautifully landscaped, this is the place we chose to spend our last days on the island. This coworking was originally a Coliving in Seminyak, ie a big shared house for entrepreneurs, start’up, expats and freelancers. We feel the bonds woven between the historic members. Asian atmosphere although founder Michael Bodekaer is Danish.

PRICE

  • $ 19 per day ($ 9 if you stay in the cafe of the ground floor, meals included!)
  • $ 55 per week (30h package)
  • $ 206 per month (unlimited package)

BENEFITS

With a premium positioning affirmed, the Livit is undoubtedly the largest coworking space in Bali. They offer practical services such as the delicious lunch buffet for a ridiculous price or a laundry service.

INCONVENIENTS

Freshly opened, this huge factory of 4 floors rehabilitated seems a little empty. One can also regret the excessively high rates for freelancers compared to its competitors.
